Brand Identity, Packaging & Website Design
This multi-stage academic project was made up of three components: a brand identity, packaging design, and website design. The brief outlined a coffee company that has a brick and mortar location as well as an online shop selling beans.
From this information came Unbothered Bean. Over the past 30 years, specialty coffee has been a staple for patrons seeking an elevated coffee experience. Today, countless methods have been exhausted to produce innovative caffeinated beverages, but the end result is not always to everyone’s liking. Specialty coffee has also been tossed around as a blanket term to disguise poor quality and questionable practices.
I used the word unbothered for the name because the coffee shop is comfortable and secure with the product offerings - consistent, quality, and timeless beans & brews that satisfy even the most pedantic coffee drinker. In a way, the name is a parody on coffee joints that come across as pretentious, overly trendy, and snobbish.
Bean there, done that.
We’ve seen this before - bare and uncomfortable interiors passed off as minimalist, a menu full of coffee jargon that’s not unlike learning a new language, and over roasted cups that make you wonder if the ROI on all that experimentation is worth it.
Unbothered Bean isn’t concerned with style.
We’re grassroots, simple, and straightforward. We source our beans from reputable producers all over the world, take measured steps in ensuring quality control, and create pleasurable & consistent flavor profiles for both the everyday caffeine drinker and discerning connoisseur.
I designed a website prototype that features an online shop, subscription options, and information about the coffee company. The prototype consists of a desktop and mobile version.
The website was created and can be viewed on Figma.
