Brand Identity, Electronic Brochure
The academic challenge was to create a brand identity and electronic brochure for a beach resort. The brochure would contain general information, rooms & rates, and amenities pertaining to the accommodation.
I came up with Paraw Beach Villas, a rustic getaway located in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. Using raster images to anchor the design, I played around with cropping to create visual interest.
The timeline for this project was two weeks.
Located in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines, Boracay is a resort island comprising 10 square kilometers and a local population of 37,000.
A tourist hotspot since the 1970’s, Boracay has been recognized throughout the years as one of the best island destinations in the world. Known for its warm weather, pristine beaches, vibrant nightlife, and a variety of watersports, the island attracts more than a million local and international visitors annually.
The resort’s name, paraw, is derived from a local variation of a sailboat that is native to that region.
In Tagalog, the word means “malaking bangka na may layag”, or a double outrigger boat propelled by sails. Constructed out of wood and bamboo, paraws are a common sight in Boracay’s landscape, and paraw sailing is a mainstay local activity for visitors.
